Basically there isn't much to say about this game, and it's one that is best forgotten. Stevie G played great, Barmby ran about a lot and scored a deserved goal, Heskey kept up his recent good goalscoring form and coped with a lot of physical and verbal abuse, and Owen scored straight after coming on as a sub. We also conceded two goals to what is basically a pub side, and for most of the game we laboured to break them down. Channel Five could be forgiven for asking for their money back, and even the usually over excitable Jonathan Pearce couldn't find much to shout about in this one. One good thing to come out of it I suppose.
