Preston lad Conal has been with the reds since he was 12 years old. He is a versatile player who can play up front or on either wing.
Naturally left footed, he forced his way into the under 17 side as a 15 year old, and caught the eye with some impressive performances.
Tall and rangy, his strengths are holding the ball up and bringing other players into the game. He's particularly adept at dropping deep and threading passes through a defence.
Along with the rest of his team, Conal struggled for form and goals in the 2004/05 season, but he showed his quality in the youth cup, hitting a hat-trick at Anfield in the youth cup against Wealdstone.
Along with Paul Lancaster and Calum Woods, Conal was retained as a third year for the 2005/06 season, and will be looking to establish himself in the reserve set up, having been frequently involved last year.
