A lively young forward who first represented the u17's when he was just 14 years old, James was a prolific scorer for the u16 team, and really caught the eye during an u18 tournament in Italy.

For all his promise however, he didn't make many starts for the u17's and was mostly used as a substitute.

He was regularly included in the u19 squad, but again he was kept on the bench. It was almost as if the club didn't want anyone to know about him.

The 2004/05 season was the year when Frayne was exepected to make his mark at u18 level, but like the team as a whole, he struggled, scoring only once all season.

He also suffered some disciplinary problems, and was twice sent off, once for retaliating to racial abuse and another occasion for spitting at an opponent.

2005/06 is a very important season for James, who is undoubtedly talented but has so far struggled to make his mark at Academy level.
