Paul is a promising midfield player who joined the Academy from Manchester City at the start of the 2004/05 season after impressing on trial. With each passing week he seemed to become more influential, and his strong running and quick feet make him a valuable asset to the Academy ranks. Paul can play anywhere across midfield, and turned in a brilliant display on the left wing in the FA Youth Cup rout of Wealdstone at Anfield. He also forced his way into the reserve side, and scored his first reserve goal after coming off the bench away at Bolton.
