Liverpool under 17's continued their unbeaten run with a 2-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday at Middlewood Road today.

They completely dominated a first half in which Wednesday hardly had a shot at goal. Adam Flynn was man of the match with a superb display at centre back and Steven Gillespie looked good in midfield. Liverpool had a couple of chances to take an early lead but Massie tried walking the ball into the net instead of shooting.

The first goal came on 27 minutes. Captain Andy Wright got on the end of a corner and his header was deflected into the net by a Wednesday defender. Another corner, this time from the left found Mark Smyth un-marked at the far post and his header made it 2-0 on 38 minutes.

In the early stages of the second half a big score looked on the cards as Wednesday looked as though they were going to give up but shortly after they hit the bar and this seemed to spur them on. It was Liverpool then who were under pressure as Wednesday took control. The Reds became so dis-organised coach Dave Shannon referred to his team as "Raggy Arsed Rovers" at one stage. Wednesday couldn`t finish though and Liverpool held on for the win.

Team:-  Paul Harrison, Andy Wright, Stephen Vaughan, Adam Flynn, Chris (or was it Paul?) McGrath, Carl Clampitt, Darren Potter, Stephen Gillespie, Mark Smyth, Jason Massie, Robbie Foy (Wayel Al`Jaradi)
