  • Newcastle 3 Liverpool 3 (Dec 4 2024)

I don’t think we’ll know if this is a good point or not until after the weekend. If we win at Goodison then I’m happy to look back at this and say “yeah that’s a decent result in the circumstances”. If we drop more points at Goodison though, this performance and the way we threw it away at the end is going to be viewed a lot more harshly I think. For now though I’m relaxed about it.   I’m not mad at anyone, it’s just football. We aren’t going to win every game, there are going to be so

  • A View to the Future - Stefan Bajcetic

In the past couple of seasons, The View to the Future series has travelled to the English lower leagues as TLW have followed the journey of our various loanees. For the first time we get direct insight from a European club in this case how Stefan Bajcetic is progressing courtesy of the Red Bull Salzburg Supporters group.   Firstly Tobias Schmied  gives us a complete overview into the current club dynamic of Salzburg where it has been a campaign full of inconsistency and in turn how Baj

Robertson: I am aiming to prove my doubters wrong again

Andy Robertson says he will never take his starting spot for granted and is ready to do what it takes to find his best form again.   For the first time in many seasons, the much loved Liverpool left-back was benched for two consecutive games against Brighton and Bayer Leverkusen.   Robertson is a player that is tireless in his workrate both in an attacking and defensive sense and with plenty of miles on the clock there was a thought that perhaps it was starting to catch up to

Slot: Current form of Robertson is a lot to do with injury interrupted pre-season

Arne Slot is not concerned with the current form of Andy Robertson saying that the defender is playing catch-up after an injury interrupted pre-season.   Any long term observer of the left-back undoubtedly respects his tireless work rate with the way he tracks his opponent in a defensive sense and then becomes a attacking weapon with his crosses into the box and chipping with the odd vital goal along the way.     Despite being only 30, Robertson has plenty of clock

  • That was the Week that Was (Dec 2-7 2024)

Monday Dec 2:   Something from yesterday I want to mention as I think I forgot to put it in the match report. The coin toss. Virgil wasn’t happy about something and I joked that Kavanagh had brought his double sided coin to allow City to turn us around, but it turns out that Virg wasn’t ready because he was still looking after the mascot. The reason I mention this is because when Virg was asked about it, he actually name checked the little guy, Isaac. He didn’t need to do that, he coul

Premier League Round Up (Nov 29 - Dec 5 2024)

I feel a bit cheated this week as I can’t open with a Man City defeat. Well I could, as they lost yet again, but I’ve already done it in the match report and our game isn’t usually included in here, so I feel like I’m missing out a little.   I’ll get to the midweek fixtures in due course, so I’ll start with Arsenal. I mentioned last week how their run of upcoming fixtures are soft and that they might make a dent in our lead over the next half a dozen games. That’s happened already as i

    Liverpool 2 Manchester City 0 (Dec 1 2024)

That was the most complete performance we’ve ever had against City. Granted, it’s also the weakest City team we’ve faced in many a year and they’re in an absolute mess right now, so that can’t be overlooked, but even so, given that magnitude of the game how can you not be absolute buzzing about this?   We’re better than City now. They’ve lost Rodri and that’s killed them, but even with Rodri we’re still much better. Previously when we’ve had the upper hand over them it felt like we had

That was the Week that Was (Nov 25-29 2024)

Monday Nov 25:   Mo’s interview has got everyone talking. I didn’t like it. Not one bit. I don’t want to make it seem bigger than it is though so let me say first of all that I don’t think it’s a big thing and I’m not losing any sleep over it. I’m not calling his names or slagging him off, I’m simply commenting on his decision to speak out yesterday and also what he said. It doesn’t change how I feel; I want him to stay and I think we should be doing all we can to keep him.
