Fucking get in there!!! At the end of the season I feel like we’ll look back on this weekend as when the title was won. This was the ‘late win at Villa’ moment from our last title season if you like. We didn’t know it at the time, but when it was all said and done and we looked back, that game jumped out as the pivotal moment and Sadio’s winning goal is seared into the memories of everyone, even old fuckers like me with fading memories.    United at home was the game that cemented it i

  • Slot: It would be weird if Harvey was happy regarding his playing time this season

Arne Slot says it is a positive sign that Harvey Elliott is frustrated with his lack of game time this season but it is all part of being part of a squad filled with quality players.   The English U/21 international has only played a full 90 minutes on two occasions this season, both which came in domestic cup competitions.   The most minutes he has played in the league was against West Ham on the 29th of December (16) and 43 league minutes in all, albeit he missed two months

Carragher: I would take the risk of selling Nunez in January for the right price

Jamie Carragher says if a big bid comes in for Darwin Nunez in the January transfer window he would not be against selling the Uruguayan striker.   Discussion surrounding the Liverpool future of the 25 year-old has ramped up in the past few weeks with reports that the club had received a big money bid from Saudi League club Al-Hilal, something that since has been refuted.   Nunez is one of those players which divides great opinion amongst the fanbase. And there is little doub

Klopp: I will buy the beers if City are stripped of their titles

Jurgen Klopp has had a cheeky little dig at the expense of old nemesis Man City as he officially embarks in a new phase of his highly successful footballing journey.   Yesterday saw the press conference where Klopp was officially unveiled as the Global Head of Soccer for Red Bull.   A number of topics were covered from the progress of his former club, to the three players who are still yet to sign contract extensions.   But it was one little remark which made the he

That was the Week that Was (Jan 13-18 2025)

Monday Jan 13:   Real Madrid got mauled by Barca yesterday so obviously there’s reports today of them coming back in for Trent. Because he’s obviously what they need to shore up a defence that let in four to their biggest rivals! Kyle Walker is available, let them go for him instead. Although if he’s got any sense he’ll go to Italy where he’s be the fastest player in that slow arse league for the next ten years.   Meanwhile, it looks like Tyler Morton might be getting itchy f

Premier League Round Up (Jan 14-16 2025)

No league games at the weekend as it was the FA Cup, but we’ve had a full programme of league fixtures in midweek. At the top our lead has been cut to four points, while at the bottom it’s now basically two from five to see who goes down with hapless Southampton.   Tuesday night first, and while we were drawing at Forest, City were blowing a 2-0 lead away at Brentford. Foden put them ahead with a lovely cushioned volley, and then added another when he pounced on a rebound after the liv

    Nottingham Forest 1 Liverpool 1 (Jan 14 2025)

I really thought we were going to put Forest back in their box. I kept thinking about when we went to Leicester a few years ago when they were our nearest challenger, and we put on a proper big boy performance and showed them that there were levels to this shit. That’s what I thought would happen here. It didn’t. Not until the last half an hour or so anyway, and even then we didn’t produce the goals to make it count.   Nevertheless, it’s vitally important that we didn’t lose. I’m not g

    Liverpool 4 Accrington Stanley 0 (Jan 11 2025)

I loved the domestic cups for years growing up as a Red - especially the League Cup which felt like ours, given we won it so frequently back then. However, the love affair faded and eventually died in the aftermath of Ferguson telling the FA he'd be opting out of their main event one year because he had bigger fish to fry at the World Club Cup.   What followed was a long period of ambivalence or even annoyance at these silly games that got in the way of Liverpool reclaiming our place a
