  • Liverpool 1 Everton 0 (Apr 2 2025)

I actually feel differently about this game today than I did immediately afterwards. While I was relieved and delighted with the three points as I came away from Anfield, I was somewhat underwhelmed by the performance and it didn’t do a great deal to restore a lot of the faith in the team that was lost after that Cup Final shambles.   Today though, having slept on it and had a proper think about things, I see it much differently. Much as I’d have loved us to have given them a proper hi

  • Slot: The Premier League is as competitive than it ever has been

Arne Slot has dismissed out of hand the thought that this Premier League has been lacking in quality across the board.   Liverpool only need 13 points from their remaining eight games to seal their 20th league title.   There has been a school of thought that Liverpool have ‘coasted’ through this season under minimal pressure and that their own standard of play falls short compared to title winners from previous seasons.   The Reds under Jurgen Klopp were known for a

When can Liverpool win the Premier League Title?

Liverpool went into the March international break with a commanding 12-point lead at the top of the Premier League table. The Reds are on course to win their second title in the Premier League era, and deservedly so. Arne Slot’s side have been excellent this season.    Only Nottingham Forest have beaten the Reds in the Premier League, and they did so at Anfield. But it has been over six months since that anomaly occurred. However, Liverpool have shown signs of mortality in recent times

Liverpool Could Embark on an Australian Adventure at the End of the Season

Liverpool could travel to Australia following their final game of the Premier League season against Crystal Palace on May 25. The Reds’ recent defeat by Paris Saint-Germain in the last-16 of the Champions League has opened the door for a trip to the other side of the world.   Arne Slot’s side could face the A-League All-Stars at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in a fixture that would attract around 100,000 fans. The match would be part of the A-League Grand Final week festivities, w

  • That was the Week that Was (Mar 31 - Apr 3 2025)

Monday Mar 31:   Newcastle are reportedly leading the chase for Harvey. If that happened I’d be unspeakably fucking livid. I’ve been thinking about this a fair bit over the break, and the lack of minutes for him this season is a fucking disgrace. I know we’re 12 points clear and cruising to the title, so Slot can say he’s got it right and that’s inarguable. However, alternatively, who’s to say if Harvey had played more than some of those draws wouldn’t have been turned into wins and we

Premier League Round Up (Apr 1-3 2025)

No weekend games but there was a full midweek schedule of fixtures so I’ll start with Tuesday night, as Arsenal edged out Fulham at the Emirates thanks to ‘Star Boy’ who returned with a goal. Great news for those long suffering Gooners who have seen their team so decimated by injuries all season. Finally, light at the end of the tunnel.    Sadly for them, that light was the oncoming train as Gabriel got steamrollered by it and will miss the rest of the season with a badly torn hamstrin

That was the Week that Was (Mar 24-28 2025)

Monday Mar 24:   Week off from the diary last week, so just recapping anything interesting that happened before cracking on with this week. Yeah, I got nothing. Boring week, fuck all happening other than internationals, and not much of interest happened in those. We did get Alisson sent back with a concussion, and we got Gravenberch back early too. He was sent back the day he got there, as Big Red Ron took one look at the poor broken bastard and said “you need a rest kid, fuck off home

Premier League Round Up (Mar 15-16 2025)

There was a time not so long ago when a City home game against Brighton was only ever going to end up with three points to the cheats. Those days are no more.   They led twice but in the end were lucky to even get a point. The opener came from the spot when Marmoush was fouled and Cave Troll scored from the spot. That’s 29 goals for him this season, which shocked me as it feels like he’s only scored about half a dozen. He must have got almost all of them in the first couple of months o
