Well that was easy. How it should be really, considering that United are fucking shit and probably the easiest team rot play against in the entire league. The ease with which we dispatched them here just makes what happened last season (twice) even more shameful. This is what is supposed to happen. I actually think we did this in third gear and had we needed to go up another couple of gears we could have. We didn’t need to, because they’re shit and they’re just so fucking wide open.

Monday Aug 26: The deal for the keeper is virtually done now and he’ll stay at Valencia for this year. As I wrote last week, this deal doesn’t sit too well with me just because Alisson is not looking for a way out, so it feels unnecessary. He has two years left, wants to stay beyond that so why are “succession planning” on the best in the world who doesn’t need a successor for a while? Monday Aug 19: Branthwaite’s odds on joining us were slashed right down to 1/2 last night after a load of bets were placed in Merseyside bookies at the weekend. I’ve said for ages we should go for him but I don’t believe this for a second. The time to do it was when they needed cash to meet the PSR deadline.
