  • Manchester United 0 Liverpool 3 (Sep 1 2024)

Well that was easy. How it should be really, considering that United are fucking shit and probably the easiest team rot play against in the entire league. The ease with which we dispatched them here just makes what happened last season (twice) even more shameful. This is what is supposed to happen.   I actually think we did this in third gear and had we needed to go up another couple of gears we could have. We didn’t need to, because they’re shit and they’re just so fucking wide open.

  • Slot: Bond between fans and myself will come through performance of the team

Arne Slot says that he hopes he will strike up a lasting relationship with Liverpool fans but he will go about things in a different way to his predecessor.   The Dutchman has made an efficient start in his first few months as manager both with results on the pitch and with the way he has handled the press pack and the overall impression he has given to the fanbase at large.   In a nutshell, he is grateful by what he has been left by an iconic figure and is respectful for wha

Carvalho: I needed to make the decision to leave Liverpool

A philosophical Fabio Carvalho says he well and truly understood where he was placed in the Liverpool squad and for that reason it made the decision to depart an easy one.   Last week the former Fulham attacking utility player returned to West London to join Brentford for a transfer fee of £27.5 million on a five-year deal.   The 22 year-old had a 2023/4 season of contrasts, from the wretched time in Germany at RB Leipzig where he constantly struggled for game time, to a spel

Robertson: We are in really good shape even without any new signings

Andy Robertson has a firm belief that Liverpool have more than enough depth to challenge in all the key competitions this season.   There has been a fair bit of discussion regarding Liverpool’s method to the summer transfer window.   By the own admission of new sporting director Richard Hughes. Liverpool are taking a “opportunistic approach” towards the transfer window, identifying specific targets and waiting for when they think is the right moment to strike.   The

  • Premier League Round Up (Aug 31 - Sep 1 2024)

I’ll start with Arsenal, seeing how all week my twitter for you tab has been absolutely infested with whining Gooners going massively overboard about what was essentially a correct decision.   I’ve seen it described by various Arsenal fans as “the worst decision in Premier League history” while countless others have spent their entire week looking for videos of non-Arsenal players escaping yellow cards for kicking the ball away. What fucking whiny bastards they are. Worst fanbase on so

That was the Week that Was (Aug 26- 30 2024)

Monday Aug 26:   The deal for the keeper is virtually done now and he’ll stay at Valencia for this year. As I wrote last week, this deal doesn’t sit too well with me just because Alisson is not looking for a way out, so it feels unnecessary. He has two years left, wants to stay beyond that so why are “succession planning” on the best in the world who doesn’t need a successor for a while? Smacks of them not wanting to pay Alisson, which also tells me they won’t be extending Virgil or Mo

Premier League Round Up (Aug 24-25 2024)

After an undeserved win last week United were back to losing ways as they went down to defeat at Brighton. Bit unlucky actually, they played alright and but for a freakishly funny disallowed goal they might have won.   Danny Welcrap has started the season well with goals against Everton and now United. If he can score against Arsenal and City too this season I might have to start putting some respect on his name. That's a very big IF though.   Big Games James has started the

    Liverpool 2 Brentford 0 (Aug 25 2024)

That was weird. The whole experience was weird, from start to finish. Not so much the game or the performance, but Anfield. It kind of felt like a friendly game at times as it was deathly quiet other than the low murmur of thousands of conversations going on. It’s not what I expected for the first game of the season, and I actually felt a little embarrassed by it.   The reason I say that is because all summer Arne Slot has been getting asked about how excited he is for his first game a
