2023/24 Season Report Card - Ryan Gravenberch
There's a lot to like about this kid but I don’t know what he is. I thought I knew when we signed him, but then he proved me wrong so I changed my view. Then he proved me wrong again, and it turns out he is what I initially thought. So full disclosure, I didn’t really want to sign him. You may remember that from the diary this time last diary last year. We were linked with him all summer so I had plenty to say about it, and for most of that summer I was not in favour of signing him.

Definitely the pick of last summer’s signings, which probably does not come as a surprise to anybody. He was the one who had experience of the Premier League and he’s also a World Cup winner. At least it’s almost over now. One more game and then we can have a break from this. I don’t know about you, but I desperately need it. Well that was better, I suppose. It didn’t feel that way at full time, but on reflection this was mostly good up until both teams made substitutions and the game turned on its head. Thankfully we had a four goal cushion, and thankfully Paul Tierney and VAR chose to ignore a reasonable penalty appeal for Spurs that could have got them back to 4-3. Probably the least dramatic final day I can remember. Maybe that’s why all eyes were on Anfield for Klopp’s farewell? Sky put most of their energy into that anyway, there’s even an hour and twenty minutes of their coverage on YouTube.
