  • Plymouth Argyle 1 Liverpool 0 (Feb 9 2025)

I can see the positives that can be taken from no longer being in the FA Cup. I’m also conscious of the big picture and that we’re having an incredible season to this point, which is why I don’t want to over-react to this. I’m already reconciled with not being in the FA Cup anymore, and I’d be completely fine with it if I hadn’t actually had to sit through this wretched performance.   If I’d just seen the score and not known anything else about the game, I’d have probably raised an eye

  • Opposition View: AFC Bournemouth

The fixture list continues to deliver its challenges in Liverpool’s quest for Premier League glory. In the past we may have thought managers that say there are no easy games were being incredibly diplomatic but it is certainly the case this season.   After having passed searching away tests against Nottingham Forest and Brentford, the start of February sees another significant challenge awaiting the Reds on the road. Bournemouth are currently on a 11 game unbeaten streak in the league

Slot: It would be weird if Harvey was happy regarding his playing time this season

Arne Slot says it is a positive sign that Harvey Elliott is frustrated with his lack of game time this season but it is all part of being part of a squad filled with quality players.   The English U/21 international has only played a full 90 minutes on two occasions this season, both which came in domestic cup competitions.   The most minutes he has played in the league was against West Ham on the 29th of December (16) and 43 league minutes in all, albeit he missed two months

Carragher: I would take the risk of selling Nunez in January for the right price

Jamie Carragher says if a big bid comes in for Darwin Nunez in the January transfer window he would not be against selling the Uruguayan striker.   Discussion surrounding the Liverpool future of the 25 year-old has ramped up in the past few weeks with reports that the club had received a big money bid from Saudi League club Al-Hilal, something that since has been refuted.   Nunez is one of those players which divides great opinion amongst the fanbase. And there is little doub

That was the Week that Was (Feb 3-7 2025)

Monday Feb 3:   Fairly quiet transfer window in which Man City spent more than the rest of the league combined. They’re gone legit now though, don’t forget. All that cheating was years ago, they aren’t doing anything dodgy anymore, no sireebob. I’ve seen it suggested that they’re doing their spending now before the punishment comes down on them, but if this is the best they can do then God help them when the punishment does come. Are they actually better now than they were at the begin

    Liverpool 4 Tottenham 0 (Feb 6 2025)

Normal service resumed. That defeat at Spurs might be the most shocking of upsets all season. It felt that way at the time, especially because literally no Red I know was remotely worried about the second leg. We were a goal down at half time to a vastly inferior side and we all knew what would happen in the second leg.   Spurs knew too. The way their players were hugging each other in the tunnel before the game wasn’t normal. It wasn’t a “come on lads, let’s do this” kind of hug. It l

Premier League Round Up (Feb 1-3 2025)

Obviously the big game of the weekend was at the Emirates on Sunday, but I’ll get to that in a bit. I’ll start with the Saturday games and I may as well begin with the 12.30 kick off because that was the story of the day.   Last week Forest lost 5-0 at Bournemouth, and while they will still have been slight favourites to bounce back with a win at home against Brighton, nobody could have envisaged them hitting seven. Forest just aren’t that kind of team, they keep it tight and they coun

That was the Week that Was (Jan 27-31 2025)

Monday Jan 27:   David Coote is in the news again. In an exclusive with the S*n (of course) he’s come out as gay and said that his struggles with dealing with that led to him taking drugs and calling Jurgen ‘a German cunt’. Firstly, the only people who hadn’t worked out he was gay were the ‘faithfuls’ in this year’s Traitors show. It couldn’t have been more obvious.   Secondly, it's largely irrelevant too as while I'm sure many of us can sympathise with the difficulties he mu
