  • Tottenham Hotspur 3 Liverpool 6 (Dec 22 2024)

I think that game went pretty much how it should have done. By that I mean when we’re thinking about what should happen against a team that plays the way Spurs do, this is it. You watch how wide open they are, how naive they are, and think “if we’re on it we’ll fucking take them to the cleaners”. We were, and we did.   Six goals was the minimum we should have come away with really. It could easily have been more, probably should have, but we visibly eased off at 5-1 and that kind of sk

  • Slot: We are proof that there are more ways to be successful than spending a lot of money

Arne Slot says the pathway that the key decision makers at Liverpool are taking has been vindicated by their fine start to the season.   The Reds manager made the comments in relation to Liverpool’s closest title challenger at this present point of time which is Chelsea.   Since the Todd Boehly era started in May 2022, the West London outfit have spent a mind boggling £1.1 billion on players with a Net Spend of £656.1m.   In that same time frame, Liverpool have spen

A View to the Future - Stefan Bajcetic

In the past couple of seasons, The View to the Future series has travelled to the English lower leagues as TLW have followed the journey of our various loanees. For the first time we get direct insight from a European club in this case how Stefan Bajcetic is progressing courtesy of the Red Bull Salzburg Supporters group.   Firstly Tobias Schmied  gives us a complete overview into the current club dynamic of Salzburg where it has been a campaign full of inconsistency and in turn how Baj

Robertson: I am aiming to prove my doubters wrong again

Andy Robertson says he will never take his starting spot for granted and is ready to do what it takes to find his best form again.   For the first time in many seasons, the much loved Liverpool left-back was benched for two consecutive games against Brighton and Bayer Leverkusen.   Robertson is a player that is tireless in his workrate both in an attacking and defensive sense and with plenty of miles on the clock there was a thought that perhaps it was starting to catch up to

    Southampton 1 Liverpool 2 (Dec 18 2024)

I watched this game, but didn’t watch it as intently as I usually do so this report will be fairly short. It was the TLW Pod Xmas night out and we watched the game in the pub with no sound on, with lots of different conversations going on.   So while I saw all of the major incidents in the game and can comment on those, in terms of individual performances I’m not really in a position to say much. For example, I don’t think I remember seeing Trey Nyoni even touch the ball so how can I c

Premier League Round Up (Dec 14-16 2024)

Another week another City humiliation. Usually I would lead with that but let’s be honest, it’s old hat now. City losing and Guardiola melting down will never not be funny, but it’s no longer a novelty so I’ll save that for later.   I’m going to start with our friendly neighbourhood blueshite, who surprised us all by going to Arsenal and keeping a clean sheet. Should it have been so much of a surprise though? In most respects, of course it should. Everton are shite and Arsenal are titl

    Liverpool 2 Fulham 2 (Dec 14 2024)

It is I, Le Clerc! Or at least substitute match report writer Dan Thomas, thrust into league match report action for the first time in many moons. Anyway, read on as I shake off Europa League/Carabao Cup rust for a match report that will doubtless not be able to capture the drama of a 2-2 draw at home to Fulham. And hopefully Dave can shake, shake, shake off his cold.   This match report will not be all singing, all dancing and all praising. Whilst there is a lot to be positive about,

    Premier League Round Up (Dec 7 - 9 2024)

After last week’s aberration, normal service is resumed this week as I can talk about those City losers dropping more points. Even before they turned to shit they would often have problems against Palace so this wasn’t exactly a shock result, especially given City’s recent form, but it’s still great seeing them suffer.   Palace are a bogey side for them though, no question. They’re right there alongside Spurs and - to a lesser extent - Wolves as unfancied teams that have a decent track
